Move with Moosic 5K Run/Walk

Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 9am

Join us for the second annual Move with Moosic 5K Run/Walk on June 7, 2026, proudly presented by Fidelity Bank!
We’re excited to run it back with the same course starting and ending at the Moosic Youth Center, winding through Main Street, Minooka Avenue, past Felter Field & Piaski Park, up Spring Street, with a turnaround at Mary Ann Nawrocki Park!
This year, we’re adding a FREE kid’s fun run sponsored by Dr. John G. Kuna and Associates, a second water station, and a smoother start by separating runners and walkers at the starting line.
Thanks to last year’s incredible generosity, we raised $45,000, allowing us to invest in major updates at Piaski Park (coming April!), resurface Smerdon Park’s basketball court, improve safety at the Moosic Youth Center, mulch the Moosic Red Wings playground, and upgrade security cameras at Mercatili Segilia Park.
We are SO GRATEFUL for your continued support! Join us this year as a runner, walker, sponsor, or volunteer. Register at runsignup.com/movewithmoosic.
For sponsorships or after?party vendor space, contact Marilyn French (mfrench@moosicborough.org) or Ashley Aldubayan (aaldubayan@moosicborough.org).

SUB-FREEZING WEATHER PROTECTION

Pennsylvania American Water urges residents to be prepared during sub-freezing weather with the following tips to protect pipes during ongoing below-zero temperatures:
  • KNOW HOW TO SHUT OFF YOUR WATER by locating and marking the main shut off value for quick location in an emergency
  • TEST YOUR MAIN WATER SHUT OFF VALVE by closing and checking sinks to ensure the shut-off value is working properly
  • CHECK SPRINKLER OR IRRIGATION SYSTEMS to make sure everything is turned off and fully drained
  • ELIMINATE SOURCES OF COLD AIR NEAR WATER LINES such as crawl spaces, unheated rooms, basements, garages and exterior walls by insulating, plugging drafts around doors & windows
  • PROTECT YOUR PIPES by wrapping exposed pipes with insulation or heat tape (even fabric or newspaper can help)
  • KEEP WATER MOVING THROUGH THE PIPES when temperatures stay below freezing by allowing a small trickle of water to run
These and many more tips can be found via the PA American Water link:
