ADOPTED
At their regular meeting on Monday, August 10, 2026, members present of the Moosic Borough Council voted unanimously to amend the borough’s zoning ordinance with the adoption of Ordinance #4 of 2026 – Data Centers & High-Density Computing Facilities as a special exception. With this action, potential developers must adhere to regulations and requirements to ensure the project is a thoughtful and responsible land use within the borough, while protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our residents.
The public effort to develop the amendment began in 2025 and has been reviewed at multiple public meetings and by the Moosic Borough Planning Commission and Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission as part of the process in creating this comprehensive ordinance.
