REQUEST OF PA AMERICAN WATER COMPANY Greenwood Fire Department was notified yesterday that PA American Water Company is beginning their annual Fire Hydrant flushing program through out Moosic Borough. The flushing program provides testing and maintenance of the hydrants, and also improves domestic water quality by flushing water mains. Many residents have taken the initiative to landscape around some fire hydrants. PA American Water would like to advise that “all” fire hydrants will be operated and tested. Their employees will do everything possible not to disturb landscaping. However, the operation and flowing of each hydrant is necessary and some landscaping will be disturbed or removed as necessary.

Eagle Scout is the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. Moosic Borough Mayor and Council had the privilege to recognize Moosic residents Jason Walter Phillips Jr., a member of Boy Scout Troop 316 in Avoca, whom recently earning the honor of Eagle Scout. Jason whom has undertaken for his Eagle Scout project the restoration of the Bernie J. Sklanka Pavilion and the addition of multiple Birdhouses in Moosic, PA.. Again on behalf of Moosic Borough Mayor and Council and all the residents of Moosic, Congradulations! Job Well done!
Inspired by achievement, Moosic Borough Mayor and Council at it’s regular scheduled meeting held on April 9, 2019 recognized Brayden Insalaca whom has achieved the highest award as a Cub Scout, the Arrow-of-light Award.
